Jonathan Orellana is a Mental Health Counseling Intern currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Grand Canyon University. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. His background in higher education, combined with his developing clinical training, informs his approach to counseling and his commitment to supporting individuals during meaningful life transitions.
Jonathan strives to cultivate a counseling environment where individuals feel genuinely welcomed, respected, and safe to share their experiences. He approaches counseling with the understanding that every person brings a unique life story, and that meaningful growth often begins when individuals are given the space to thoughtfully reflect on the challenges they have faced. His approach emphasizes empathy, attentive listening, and a collaborative process that supports resilience, insight, and personal growth.
Jonathan also maintains a holistic perspective on well-being, recognizing that spiritual, mental, and emotional health are deeply interconnected. He is bilingual in English and Spanish and is particularly passionate about serving couples, marriages, and families, including those navigating cultural adjustment or transitions after relocating from their home country.
Jonathan integrates Biblical principles into his counseling framework while maintaining a strong commitment to professional ethics. He is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and adheres to both the ACA Code of Ethics and the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) Code of Ethics.
Outside of his professional work, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his wife, leading worship at his local church, reading, and connecting with family and friends.
